Our Best Business Investments at V&CO

Ever been on the fence when it comes to investing into your own business? Maybe there’s a course you’ve been eyeing or a coaching program that looks promising. Or maybe, you’ve been back and forth about whether you’re ready to invest in brand and web design… ;)

Whatever it is, investing in your business can be nerve-wracking, especially since it always has a monetary cost attached to it.

We wanted to assure you that while it’s absolutely normal to feel nervous about spending your hard-earned money (and time) into another business expense, we want to encourage you to take the leap and invest into whatever you feel is going to benefit your business in the long run.

In today's blog post, we'll be sharing a list of investments we've made for V&CO!

We hope that by sharing a few ways we’ve invested in our studio would encourage you to bite the bullet and sign up for whatever you feel you need in order to get your business to the next level.

Please note: some of these courses have either changed in price or their offering since we took them.

  1. Graphic + Web Designer Contract  |  The Artists Lawyer ($530 CAD)

  2. Simply Profitable Designer Summit ($250 CAD)

  3. Designer Business Bundle  |  One6Creative Academy ($700 CAD)

  4. The Brand Mapping Method  |  Carli Anna ($1,300 CAD)

  5. Amplify Shopify Course  |  Morgan Rapp ($1,300)

  6. Standout Shopify  |  Squarestylist ($3,500 CAD)

  7. Monthly Subscriptions
We also invest in monthly subscriptions with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro (Social Media Templates), Squarespace (Website), Notion (Project Management), DropboxSign (Contracts), Flodesk (Newsletter), Planoly (Social Media), Loom (Video Presentations), Zapier (Website Newsletter Automations), Google Ads, and more that amount to roughly $250 per month.

Every single investment on this list has helped progress our knowledge in various business systems and processes, client experience, brand strategy, Shopify, and more. Without investing in these things, our own skills and offerings wouldn’t be where they are today and we wouldn’t be able to offer the same experience for our clients, which would devalue our studio. All of these investments have added tremendous value and we have seen the monetary return on all of them.

We hope that sharing our own experience with investing in our studio has given you the nudge you need to do the same for yourself. If branding is the investment you’ve been putting off, we’d love for you to get in contact with us!
