2022 in Review
Today, we are reflecting on 2022 and what we were able to accomplish over the past year.
This was the first year it felt like we really had some amazing systems in place for our clients. We integrated our V&CO Client Portal, which has received such great feedback! Through this portal, our clients are able to tap into resources, submit their content and questionnaires, view proofs with ease, and give feedback! It’s been a game changer not only for them, but for us too! We also tried out a new booking method where we booked all of our projects in advance. This allowed clients to prepare for their projects ahead of time so that we were never waiting on content from them.
Everything was ready to go during their onboarding weeks, and it has made our projects such a breeze! We were fully booked out all year long, and are heading into 2023 with projects booked until April!!! But don’t worry, we will still have some intensive spots open, and we’ll let you know what those dates are very soon!
In January, we started working with k’pure naturals on their big rebrand. I have known the owner, Karen, for about 5 or 6 years since we both were selling our products at markets (back when I had my stationery line, V SHOP). As a fan of their products, it had long been a dream of mine to reimagine their branding and bring them to a new level. They had outgrown their DIY branding and were ready to have their branding reflect their business’ success. When Karen reached out to me to tackle this, I was over the moon! It was quite literally a dream come true!!! After their branding and packaging was ready, Karen needed a new site to go with it, and she trusted me with my first ever Shopify website!
I've been designing Squarespace websites for years, but knew I needed to add Shopify as a service since more and more brands were switching to e-commerce than ever before. I invested in a course that started in November 2021, and by the time March 2022 rolled around, I felt confident enough to execute a custom Shopify site on my own — and I am so grateful to Karen for trusting me. I actually ended up doing 2 Shopify sites for them, their Retail site and their Wholesale site! It has opened up a whole new service and we have launched 6 Shopify sites this year, with 1 more ready to launch very soon!
This year, we also got to work with two businesses from the United States! Being Canadian, we have mostly worked with other Canadian businesses in the past. This year, we got to work with Healing Souls Counseling from Washington and Mrs. Bakewell’s from Maryland! Proving that with our process, we can literally work with clients from anywhere!
We also onboarded two new members to our team. In March, we added Lauren to our design team! She has been such a valuable member. Lauren tackles a lot of print and digital collateral for the clients we work with. By having her on board, I am able to focus more on big-picture stuff with brands, which is what I truly love doing! Lauren has an exciting new year ahead of her as she is having a baby in February! We will be sad when she takes some time off, but we wish her all the best and can’t wait to have her back in action to work on some exciting projects in 2023!
In July, Ainah joined the studio. She works as our content manager and has been doing an amazing job with our social media, as well as keeping you all educated on our blog, and well-informed on our weekly newsletters! She is helping us develop some really cool services we are hoping to offer in 2023, and we can’t wait to share more with you soon!
